Game Developers Hoyoverse have announced that the beta test for the game, Zenless Zone Zero, has begun from today.
The game is the newest offering from the developers of Genshin Impact. It’s set to be similar, in that it’ll be a free-to-play action RPG. However, the setting seems much more rooted in sci-fi.
The action takes place in a post-apocalyptic city called New Eridu. Beings named Ethereal have wiped out most of humanity. However, a group of survivors known as Proxys have banded together, and using the Ethereral’s technology against them, intend to fight back.
The development team have added a message about the beta to keep down the lid on the rampant speculation that’s bound to happen with popular games.
“This test is Zenless Zone Zero‘s first small-scale Tuning Test. Zenless Zone Zero is still in the development stage, and as such, content found in the beta test does not represent the final quality. Thank you for your support and understanding.”

What characters have been shown in the Zenless Zone Zero Beta Test?
Characters shown in the ZZZ beta test include the following

- Miyabi

- Koleda
- Aokaku

These characters were previously shown in various art and gameplay by the ZZZ marketing team on twitter and it is exciting that we are now seeing real gameplay of the characters. A sneak peak of the characters and all their Ultimates is below, various other content creators have also showcased the characters’ unique E skill and normal attack skills. The game is still in development so all of this is subject to change!
How is the Zenless Zone Zero Open World?
So far the Zenless Zone Zero open world looks fairly standard with all the typical features expected of an open world game including NPCs with unique dialogue, explorable areas and unique quests and items to be found. The game has its fights within instanced dungeons unlike Genshin Impact so players would not be able to fight anytime and anywhere however this is still immersive for players to explore a cyberpunk like open world in the beautiful art style mihoyo is known for.
How is the music in ZZZ?
Zenless Zone Zero music features punchy techno beats that are fitting for the setting and the world, Hoyoverse has made a good name for itself regarding the music from Genshin Impact produced by Yu-Peng Chen and ZZZ is no different in lifting the bar in terms of what players can expect. Techno beats with a cyberpunk jazz fill the city areas while punchy high speed beats fill the battles providing players with a truly immersive experience in the game.
When does Zenless Zone Zero come out in 2022?
As of yet there has been no announcement on the date of ZZZ’s release nor on the timelines expected. We have not gotten any information on new applications opening for the Tuning Test either so eager players will have to wait until the next round! In the meantime many streamers are streaming this popular game and there are plenty of videos on YouTube showcasing almost all the Day 1 content players can find!
