How to make a custom fan character in Genshin Impact

In Genshin Impact custom characters in the actual game are impossible to create however fans of Genshin Impact on IOS, Android, Playstation and PC have a lot of fun creating their own OC characters that are sometimes so good that they can even pass off as fake “leaked” characters due to the quality of the drawing or tracing.

To make your custom character in Genshin Impact first of all you should decide on the gender for your OC. Going by the default choices in the game you are presented with male and female however you are free to make any gender OC you want.

Next you should choose the background of your Original Character. The nominal background of Genshin Impact characters can be any of the regions but so far we know little about them so it might be better to have your OC based in Mondstadt, Liyue or Inazuma.

Depending on the region you choose, you will be need to incorporate different visual traits into the OC, Mondstadt for example is a land of freedom and based partly on Western cultures so it’s possible to use some medieval style western dressing for your character. It is common that some light knight armour or clothing is worn due to it being the city of the wind so make sure not to go too overboard!

Liyue is a region based on China in part and features many traditional Hanfu or ancient Chinese clothing within the dress-code. If your OC is based in Liyue they could wear something similar or perhaps go for a more fantasy look like the Adepti – Ganyu and Xiao who do not abide to mortal dressing.

Inazuma the newest region in Genshin Impact is based on kimonos and other well-known japanese clothing. The region also features some tastefully designed shrine maiden and ninja dressing to fit into the many myths and legends of the area.

How do I choose my vision in Genshin Impact?

Choosing your vision for your OC can be hard at it will basically define the colour choice of your original character. Since Genshin Impact characters mostly inherit parts of their vision’s colour in their dressing this might be a concern for people creating fan art OC.

The only way to choose is to simply go for whichever vision will align best with your ideal OC in your mind, also to add although the characters inherit colours from their vision, some newer characters have very subdued references to their vision such as Yae Miko and Ayato who have their visions but are mostly not using it as part of the colour code for their clothing.

It is important to not let this be the main detraction from your amazing character!
